1991 - 2010
1991: He won the "1991 Discographic Interpretation" Prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Spain for his recording of the piece "Sinfonietta", by Ernesto Halffer with the English Chamber Orchestra.
He was named "Principal Guest Conductor" of the Orchestra of Valencia.
1992: He won the 1992 National Music Prize by the "Cultura Viva" Association for "a lifetime dedicated to music"..
1993-1998: He occupied the position of Technical and Artistic Director of the Municipal Symphonic Band of Madrid. He recorded a large number of albums at the head of this group. He was awarded a gold record for one of his first albums, titled "The Pasodoble."
1997: He was awarded the "1997 ROTARY FLAME" for Arts and Literature, awarded annually by the Rotary Club of Valencia. The Artistic Musical Society of Buñol (Valencia), of which he is Honorary Director, names its new rehearsal room "Maestro García Asensio."
1998-2001: He is re-appointed Permanent Conductor of the RTVE Symphony Orchestra.
2001: From 31 October 2001, he occupies again the position of Technical and Artistic Director of the Municipal Symphonic Band of Madrid.
2002: The Alfonso el Magnánimo Institution of the Provincial Council of Valencia published the book "Enrique García Asensio" Incomplete Biography, written by Mr. José Domingo Vales Vía.
2003: He was appointed Member of Honour of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Alcalá de Henares and Professor of condicting at Musikene (Higher School of Music of the Basque Country) in San Sebastián, a position he occupied until July 2010.
2004: He was awarded the first edition of the "Amics de L'Amistat" Prize by the L'Amistat Musical Association of Quart de Poblet (Valencia). This prize is awarded for his professional career excellence and dissemination of music.
2006: The City Council of Minglanilla (Cuenca) decided to organise a competition which they called "ENRIQUE GARCÍA ASENSIO" NATIONAL MUSIC BANDS COMPETITION.
He was awarded the "VALENCIANS IN THE 20TH CENTURY" Prize by the "Las Provincias" newspaper in Valencia.
He was named "Quixote of Music 2006" by the 2nd International Music Festival of Campo de Criptana.
"EXPANSIÓN", newspaper specialised in economy, grants him its prize on the occasion of its twentieth anniversary.
The Faculty of the University of the Arts "George Enescu" Iasi (Romania) granted the Diploma of Honor and the Medal of the Jubilee Year in its 145 years old.
2007: "EL MUNDO", newspaper of the Autonomous Region of Valencia, grants him the third edition of its "Valencians for The World" ("Universal Valencian") Prize. The Madridejos Municipal Band (Toledo) pays tribute to him and names its rehearsal room "Maestro Enrique García Asensio."
He is appointed Conductor of Honour by the "El Micalet" plectrum orchestra of Lliria (Valencia).
2008: He is awarded the Gold Medal by the Royal Higher Conservatory of Music of Madrid, on the Festivity of Saint Cecilia, by agreement of the Faculty, for the services provided to the Centre.
2009: The Alfonso el Magnánimo Institution of the Provincial Council of Valencia, publishes the second edition of the book "ENRIQUE GARCÍA ASENSIO" Incomplete Biography, updated by its author, Mr. José Domingo Vales Vía.
2010: He is awarded the "UTERPE" Prize by the "Músicos Unidos" SIGLO XXI Association for his extensive musical career as Conductor, in recognition of the qualified humanitarian values demonstrated throughout his professional career.
